A cold day in Baguio City as well as for the whole northern Luzon area as the"Amihan" gets stronger these months of January and early weeks of February.
I went to the jeepney area located at Perfecto Street just beside the Igorot Park near the intersection with Otek Street. I think the jeepney was bound for PMA (Philippine Military Academy) or Camp John Hay (Just ask the barkers if they pass by Panagbenga Park).
It was a very short jeepney ride that took only some 7 minutes with a minimum fare of 8.50 Php.
So, I alighted from the jeep as the driver said "Panagbenga Park".
From where I got down at the sidewalk, I can see the park at the other side of the road and the Apache circle just nearby.
Panagbenga Park
It is a small garden park that is located on a triangular corner lot just after the Apache road circle near the Camp John Hay area. So, it is between South drive and the Loakan road. The park is with a Cafe/kiosk. Care & management of the park was granted to the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) for a period of 50 years that started year 2009.

Panagbenga Park

The park was built as a living memoir of the continued success of the yearly Panagbenga Festival.
I went inside the park.
There were some pine trees and plants everywhere but not much of varieties. There was also a small waterlily central circular pond and catfishes swam in its clear water.
A butterfly house was on one side.
Going deeper to the back of the park was the park's cafe where one can have some coffee and a light snack. A clean comfort room can be seen at the other side.
Noticeable were the totem poles/ carved pillars.
A short walk around and I got at the Dap-ayan.
Dap-ayan is the local meeting place in an outdoor setting where there are seats in the form of rocks or anything that can be taken from nature. These seats are sometimes not present and only back rest were provided.
Since it is in the cold mountains, these Dap-ayan are provided with a central open pit fireplace.
I sat down, took out my art materials and began to draw with the Dap-ayan as my subject.
After I've done my sketch-drawing, lingered there for a while, left the area and gone back to the central business district.
