(January 26, 2020 a Monday)
From San Fernando City (La Union)(1:37 am), I rode a GMW Trans (GV Florida Transport Inc.) that arrived at its terminal at lower Bokawkan road in Baguio City at around 2:59 am. It was my first time to ride in that bus for I usually ride "Partas" or any mini-bus that ply the San Fernando-Baguio route. A short taxi ride (37 Php Fare) and I was at the bus terminal of "D'Rising Sun" (DRS) at Barangay Sto. NiƱo (a.k.a. "Slaughter"/"Slaughter House area).
I waited and took the first Bontoc trip of the day that departed Baguio City at around 5 o'clock that very cold morning. Along the Halsema highway, it had a stop-over at Sayangan, Atok (Benguet). It was very cold in Sayangan. A cup of hot coffee and a "cheese bar" ordered from the local bus-stop store and restaurant did help to temporarily ease that biting cold.
After around 15 minutes, the bus trip continued.

After around 15 minutes, the bus trip continued.
It passed by Abatan 90 (Buguias) and when it reached the intersection at Mabaay (Bauko, Mountain Province) it turned to the left going towards the town proper of the municipality of Bauko at Abatan.
The bus finally arrived at Bontoc (10:56 am) and passengers (including me) alighted near the Municipal hall.
Still early, I decided to visit the nearby Kadchog Rice Terraces.
KADCHOG RICE TERRACES
This is one of the patches of rice terraces that greets visitors while approaching the town proper of Bontoc.
It is located along a river bend that can be seen along the Halsema Highway.

Noticeable is a dike wall constructed near its base to protect it during the rainy season when the river swells.
Afterwards, I rode a tricycle that took me to the terminal area of jeeps bound for the nearby municipality of SADANGA.
