-my pagnapagna-
(June 11, 2018 a Monday)

It was raining.
It was raining for about 3 days and counting.
The rainy season (wet season) had just officially been declared.
With an umbrella, I went out to see the War Memorial at Bacnotan, La Union. This is one of the nearest war memorial near San Fernando City, La Union that is located along the national highway.
I rode a mini-bus with 20 pesos fare from San Fernando City.
I alighted just before the bridge before downtown Bacnotan and it was still raining.
I walked my way towards the bridge (Baroro Bridge) and went to its left shoulder going down to a road that will lead towards the river dike.
Just before the river dike was the War Memorial.

The War Memorial Monument:
It is a small area sheltered by trees with a free-standing rectangular column topped with a symbolic shape that looked like a flame.
At the back of the monument was a low wall where two marble epitaphs were mounted.

The first epitaph was "BARORO MEMORIAL" that states:

Besides the war memorial were residential houses and most of the residents were fishermen of the nearby river and sea.
After visiting the nearby river and sea, I left the area bringing with me echoes of yesterdays' past of brave Filipinos and allies who fought for our motherland as I went to Home Sweet Home.

-end of pagnapagna-

Salute to them!
