"HYDRO 2" falls

"The Hydro 2 falls is one of the waterfalls accessible from the Kennon road, although others take it from the mountains going down"

-my pagnapagna-
(October 6, 2015)

From the Kennon Road @ Camp 6, we walked towards the hanging bridge that led to a small residential area at the other side of the river.
The path led further to a small basketball court and towards a trail amidst bushes just along the river. We passed by some abandoned mining areas where we also saw a small tunnel/cave dug by private miners.

A sign along the trail warning people
doing illegal activities in the area... hmmm? ...
must be the mining such as the one we saw, a tunnel.

Walked further along the trail and the waterfalls can be seen at the far right side. We went down the river towards the waterfalls.
At the gorge area, there were some few freshly fallen rocks, a sign that any time a rock can fall from the cliffs that can cause some major injuries or even death.

Freshly made impact marks on boulder surfaces
and broken rock pieces were scattered.

After some few rock climbing and passing by some natural pool areas, we finally arrived at the base of the  main cascade of the waterfalls.

You may either hop from the top of the rocks,
do some clinging/climbing on to those rock formations,
thread/swim on its waters in order to get near the base of the waterfalls

From what I've seen, the waterfalls is made up of three tiers. A short cascade farther above (at least it looked short from where i stood) and two longer cascades that includes the main.

You need to maneuver your way to those boulders to get an unobstructed view
 of the main cascade.

I think this was previously a under study for a Hydro power plant that's why it is called "Hydro" falls and it is particularly regarded as Hydro 2 and the Hydro 1 is located somewhere else.

Subject: Hydro 2 Falls
Location: Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet

How to get there:
At Baguio City, ride a jeep bound for CAMP 6 along Kennon road. The jeep terminal is at Carantes Street corner T. Claudio Street just at the Back of Jollibee Harrison road corner T.Claudio Street.
You have to get down at Hydro 2 area. This is located somewhere in between the Lion's head and the Camp 6 Elementary School. It is just after 7A Store (left side of the road or mountain side) there would be a hanging bridge at the right side of the road or river side. Walk on this hanging bridge to cross the river  towards the residential area and into the trail along the river.
