MV Logos Hope La Union 2015

"One of the well loved ship had arrived in the city for the second time around"
-pagnapagna
For the past few months, I have been reading in the internet that the largest floating book fair was coming to the city again after two years.
Well, I promised myself to visit it again and make another sketch of it.

If you find this story/blogpost interesting and/or had helped you in any way (in your researches, works, travels, blogs, adventures, homeworks at school, a personal project and more), I'd like to hear a word or two from wonderful people like you or simply Like "pagnapagna" in Facebook. I'd be very thankful. It gives me inspirations. Cheers!

-my pagnapagna-

It was July 12, 2015, a Sunday when we went to Poro Point Pier area. It was raining and it would be very hard to do an outdoor sketch just under an umbrella.
We were lucky, there was an unmanned outpost (a small shed or a shack) along the seawall overlooking the pier and to the MV Logos Hope.
There, we took shelter and did my sketch of the ship.

The shack along the seawall with the MV Logos Hope at the distance.

From where we were, we can see people lined up to get inside the ship.
I continued my sketch even when heavy rains poured and strong winds blew.
Finally, I was done with my sketch and we left for our intimate encounter with MV Logos Hope.

After paying 20 pesos each as entrance free, we boarded the ship and went inside.

An audio-visual/viewing area greeted us, we sat down and watched a video about the ship.
A crew also acquainted us (together with all the many visitors) about the ship's areas.
Walked further and we found ourselves in the book area. There were many shelves of book inside and they were classified accordingly.
Lots of people were taking their photographs in a section where there were large poster-artworks as a backdrops.
There was also an entertainment going on at one of the sections. They were doing some dance activity for the young ones and young at hearts.
Into the cafeteria, we saw many were enjoying their ice cream. We could have bought one but the area was crowding up, maybe because of the heavy rain outside.
There were other areas of the book fair where we have missed or skipped but just to have seen the ship itself that comes only a few times was worth the "pagnapagna" at the pier of San Fernando City, La Union.
I understand that the ship was not only a floating book fair but to its family of many volunteers and crews, they would aptly call it their voyaging Home Sweet Home.

-end of pagnapagna-
