La Union Century old TUNNEL

"A structure abondoned"

Not so popular even among the locals of Aringay, La union is this old tunnel located at Barangay Poblacion.

Its facade bears  the roman numerals MCMXIII (translated as 1913) . Built intentionally for Philippine National Railways leading to Baguio City but abandoned due to the Second World War.

How to get there:
From Manila, take a bus going to any of these: Laoag City, Vigan City, Candon City, Abra and La Union. But get down at Aringay, La Union.
At Aringay La Union take a tricycle ride going to the Municipal Dump site (Located 3 kms. at the Eastern side of the Town). When you reach the signage "To Dump site" (which is a road going up), take that road going up and there will be some two houses up there and ask for the tunnel which is just some 50 or more meters away.
